How could I have passed up on these?! I mean look at this packaging! Of all the releases this year, this has got to be the most beautiful packaging I’ve seen. These have such a luxe look and a nice weight to the packaging. I can’t even begin to tell you how gorgeous these are in person. Pictures don’t do them any justice. I literally cannot stop staring at them and I refuse to put them away in a drawer. These have been sitting on my vanity front and center since I got them.
And that’s all they’ve been doing since then. Just sitting there looking pretty. I wish I could love these, I really really do, but I can’t lie and say they are life changing. Not that a highlight should be life changing but if it comes in a package like this one then hell yea I better be in for some life altering face glow.
The pigmentation, much like the Natural Love Eyeshadow Palette, just doesn’t come through. These literally disappear on the skin. There is no “subtle” glow even after two layers of packing this one. All three have the same soft, buttery consistency that is incredibly easy to blend. But what’s the point in having a fabulous formula if I can’t get the product to show up on my face … even after multiple layers and using different techniques.
All in all, these are highlighters are good for those who don’t want that “glow from outer space” look. But you could pay less for a drug store item and get the same payoff. The marketing should really be changed because these are not what they claim to be. “Unparalleled color payoff”? I think not. More like a soft, natural sheen. If that’s what you’re looking for and don’t mind dishing the $30 then go for it because at least the packaging is with all the hype.
