Can I just start off by saying that this is the most beautiful packaging everrrrr!! Literally my absolute favorite packaging of all time. These have such a good heavy feel to them. I refuse to put these away because I want to stare at them every single time I sit at my vanity.
I just wish I felt the same way about the lipstick itself. While the packaging took my breath away, the lipstick itself left me so unimpressed. They felt so cheap on my lips and they had a powdery/flowery taste to them. Exactly like the L’Oreal lipsticks. Which is a problem because I shouldn’t be finding any similarities (especially not in the negative) with my drug store and high end lipsticks. I also feel like these settled into my fine lines and they definitely weren’t matte. They had a slight sheen to them.
I can’t comment on whether or not these are long lasting because I didn’t wear them long enough but the reviews say these stay put for a while. Overall, I was left feeling extremely underwhelmed with the product itself. Perhaps I expected them to be a lot more matte, to have the Dior stamp on the lipstick like the others in their lipstick line, and the scent and taste was enough to throw me off. But I don’t think I’ll be running to buy any more of these. For the price tag, I’d rather purchase more of my holy grail Givenchy Le Rouge lipsticks.
