Viseart Neutral Matte Palette | $80

A coveted professional eyeshadow palette that can be used for shading, highlighting, and defining eyes, brows, and the contours of the face. Get professional quality eye looks with these versatile 12-shade palettes.

Viseart’s coveted, bestselling palettes are reliable film-tested professional products, a staple in every artist’s kit, and they’re the work horse of all professional artists.

These palettes have a dynamic cult following throughout all levels of artistry.

Manufactured in France, Viseart’s proprietary formula is created in small tightly-controlled batches to maintain pigment quality, powder integrity, and consistency.

Viseart is the “secret sauce” for top Hollywood makeup artists, as well as makeup artist enthusiasts of all genres.

Perfect for creating a no-makeup look, this core neutral palette features beige and brown tones that are ideal for shading, highlighting, and defining eyes, brows, or facial contours.

I gravitate towards shades like these like nobody’s business. If I could wear warm and neutral tones for the rest of my life .. I’d be pretty happy. So when I saw this palette, I drooled over it for months. It took me a while to actually purchase it because who the hell pays $80 for an eyeshadow palette and doesn’t blink twice?  The price tag was enough to even make me hesitate. But I waited for a 20% sale at Sephora and even then I hesitated.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really blown away when I first opened it. The packaging didn’t scream high end to me. For the price tag I wanted something sturdier, perhaps a mirror, or  pretty packaging. This palette doesn’t look like an $80 palette to me and that is perhaps the most disappointing thing about it.

As far as the formula goes, I love these shadows. They are so pigmented and they blend like a dream! There is a little kickback but honestly, that’s not something that bothers me. These are some of the best matte eyeshadows I own. I just wish I felt the same about the packaging.

If you can look past the price tag, and you’re looking for some high quality shadows, then check this out. I will say I’m a much bigger fan of the smaller palettes and I’ll be purchasing several other of the Viseart Theory Palettes but I probably won’t be purchasing any of the other palettes in this particular range. I don’t think it reaches my expectations for an $80 palette.

He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

“Not only did I seduce him, but I tied him up and rode him like he was my own personal amusement park ride.” – Allie Hayes

Dean is an insanely hot, rich boy who everyone thinks is dumb as rocks when in fact he has a lot going for him. Turns out the guy has dimensions and he shocks himself and everyone else when he discovers he wants more than meaningless sex with random women. I was kinda shocked too because he’s a major player.

Allie is the definition of girlfriend material. So when she finds herself intertwined with Dean she’s rocked to the core. Especially since she’s going thru an awful breakup and Dean isn’t exactly boyfriend material.

Of all the books in the Off-Campus series this was my favorite and it was the funniest without a doubt (the scene with the Dean and Winston getting caught in the tub by Logan had me in tears). Dean is legit a really funny character. And I actually liked Allie a lot more than I liked Hanna or Grace and was shocked that I didn’t hate Dean since he was such a man whore in the most disgusting way possible.

I just really had a hard time picturing Dean (or any of the guys) as masculine, macho men. I mean how could I when they’re all over 21 and using words like, “Funsies”, “Obvs”, and “Adorbs”. They snicker, chuckle, and chortle. And they’re pretty sure that only couples who are totally head over heels in love sit next to each other in booths. Oh and they stress over who is going to say I love you first and panic if they’re the ones who do.

Excuse me while I roll my eyes into the back of my head. Permanently.

Alpha males? Nope not these guys. Although I’ll be honest and say I don’t think I’m the intended target audience for this young-adult romance novel. If I’d read this back when I was in high school or maybe a freshman in college I would have probably re-read this series a million times.

Either way I don’t regret picking it up. I laughed – a lot – and I probably won’t be thinking about the book after I put it down but it was still good. It was a nice change of pace for me and what I usually go for and I’ll definitely be reading the next book in the series. This book ended with a huge bomb being dropped so I’m excited for some college drama.

NARS Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette | Swatches & Review

NARS Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette | $49

“A palette with three, universally flattering highlighters to illuminate the eyes and cheeks, while an ultra-versatile wet/dry formula takes you from sheer shimmer to an intense glow.”

“When applied wet, these highlighters work with the skin’s surface to create a supernatural glow. The three shades are designed to layer endlessly and illuminate all skin tones.”

“They can be applied dry for a shimmering veil of second-skin color, or wet for a high-impact glow that instantly blends into skin. They can be worn alone or layered—on the face or eyes to enhance your natural features.”

“3 x 0.11 oz/ 3.4 g Highlighter in Rivage (glistening pearl), Salé (shimmering peach champagne), Embruns (metallic rose gold).”

This palette is small but mighty! I have been eyeing this since it was announced and the second it was released I checked out so fast I forgot to add samples in my Sephora cart. That’s how you know I was thirsty haha. The moment I got this I took pictures and bathed in these highlighters and I was not disappointed. I don’t own any Nars highlighters but I’m going to have to add more to my collection because I fell hard for this palette.

I was definitely impressed with this travel sized palette but I can’t say I’m surprised because I don’t think I own anything in my Nars Collection that I don’t love. All shades are super creamy and pigmented with no chunky glitters – these go on smooth and blend so well. The shades are all wearable for my NC30 completion and I love how versatile it is. I can either get a subtle glow when using this or glow from the heavens. The lightest shade is my go to for an inner corner and brow bone highlight, the middle shade is my favorite all over the face highlighter and the darkest shade is more of a bronzer for me but I’ve been using it as a highlighter and it’s gorgeous! You guys know how obsessed I am with the ABH That Glow Kit and that’s still my number one but this Nars palette is definitely my number two and a must have for me.

Oh and I love that the packaging isn’t the standard matte they have which gets dirty super fast. I hate dirty makeup so I’m always having to wipe down my blushes, bronzers, and lipsticks from this brand. The cover has a glossy finish, it’s sturdy but not bulky, and the mirror inside is really good. A lot of people have been complaining about the size but I think it’s perfect and the price is reasonable for 3.4 ounces of highlighter that I will probably never even hit pan on anyway.

This is limited edition and a Sephora exclusive. If this palette is your cup of tea and the price tag doesn’t bother you – run! I have no idea how this has lasted so long on the shelves so get it while you still can. It’s a must have in my opinion. The quality is great and I think Nars did the damn thing on this palette.

Estee Lauder Heatwave | Dupes, Swatches & Review

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée | $45

“Turn up the heat.”

“Give yourself a heavenly glow with this super-luxurious bronzer.”

“This seductive all-over bronzer is endless summer.”

“Smooths on as a soft sheen.”

“Builds to a luminous pearl highlight.”

I was lucky enough to purchase the original Heatwave highlighter and did comparison swatches.

When I heard Estee Lauder was relaunching their Heatwave highlighter I didn’t get super excited because I already had the original from the first launch and if I’m being completely honest, I never reach for it. I’ve had it for yearssss and I think I’ve only used it a handful of times.

I still don’t know why I went out and purchased the new one but I think it was the packaging that won me over. The first time I used the new Heatwave highlighter I was super disappointed. I dipped my brush in and had to run because I was hit with a ton of glitter chunks that I definitely didn’t want on my face. And when I applied it on my face (with a fan brush) I had the same intense, chunky glitter I was running away from.

Then I read some reviews that it was the overspray and the chunks were only on the top layer for a pretty effect. So I really dug my brush in there and got rid of the top layer and much to my surprise the heavy chunks of glitter were gone. So I decided to keep this even though I have the original and prefer that formula to the new formula. Mostly because I’m a sucker for packaging and I because I already used it a few times.

The original Heatwave isn’t as warm but the two are definitely similar. Also, the original formula is a lot softer and buttery in my opinion. Both are equally pigmented and if you love highlighters then grab yourself one of these before it’s gone. If you do miss out however, there are plenty of dupes.

First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer | $28

I’m a sucker for anything that has coconut in it. So naturally I gravitated towards this moisturizer when it was released and I got my hands on a sample asap. Let me tell you, this is bomb! I don’t wan’t to turn this into a review since my sample only gave me two uses but I can tell this is going to be my new jam. Especially on days that I don’t want to wear makeup. It has a tint to it, very similar to the MUFE primer I own and it makes my skin feel so smoothed and moisturized. I can’t wait to get my hands on a full size.
