Colour Pop Yes Please Palette | $16

“The original fixed 12 pan palette is all about that golden hour glow – the hottest shades inspired by our fave time of the day.”

“Full-Zip: matte warm ivory. Big Cocktails: matte orange. Champs: matte pale peachy nude. Bling: metallic rust”

“Louie: metallic duochrome red with a gold flip. Butter Cake: metallic pale yellow gold. Spoiled: matte brick red. Gno: matte burnt orange”

“Mischief: matte warm yellow. Note to Self: matte warm caramel. Chauffeur: metallic duochrome bright orange with a gold flip. French Kiss: matte deep red brown”

If you read my review and saw my swatches for the Natasha Denona Sunset Palette then you already know that I think this is a dupe for sure. Is the quality the same? Hell no haha but it isn’t horrible either. I happen to really like Colour Pop shadows. And for this price, this is a no brainer for those who can’t fathom dropping a crazy amount of cash on an eyeshadow palette. I’m still trying to figure out how I dropped $130 on that palette without fainting.

This Colour Pop palette is essential if you love warm tones. Honestly, for $16 I think this is a steal. The shadows are pigmented (but I recommend using a primer to really make the colors pop), buildable, and easy to blend. The quality is no where near as amazing as the Natasha Denona palette or as easy to work with but they really aren’t bad either. Some shades were a little bit patchy, as you can see, when I swatched on my arm but on the lid, with a primer, they applied smoothly.

The packaging on this palette reflects the price (cheap cardboard) and it gets dirty really fast but for $16 I don’t think I’m allowed to complain unless I want to pay more .. which I don’t haha. This palette is super popular right now and surprisingly in stock. I would definitely recommend this palette to all my warm tone loving makeup lovers.

Dose Of Colors Desi x Katy Collection | Swatches & Review

Dose Of Colors | Desi x Katy Collection

This is probably the sickest packaging I’ve ever seen. Nude, gold, and sparkles? The packaging on this is right not the money.

This highlighter (Fuego) is my favorite right now and its not just because the packaging is stunning. Its beautiful on the inside and out. This is my first highlighter so I can’t compare it to any of their others. But I will say this is a very good formula. Very pigmented, super smooth and buttery and it’s so easy to blend.

I will say this is not a sheen finish (not for a natural makeup look) so if you’re not careful you could end up with a stripe of highlight across your face. A little goes a long way with this.

I love this gloss! I’m already half way through the tube and kicking myself for not getting a back up. It’s not sticky or goopy which I love and it’s pretty long lasting when I wear it alone. This look amazing any way you decide to wear it.

I purchased this collection because I love Desi and Katy’s vibes. And it’s gorgeous. But i have to be honest and say that I’m not a fan of either lipsticks. While the formula is lovely (not patchy, applies smoothly and is long lasting) the colors don’t suit me at all. I’ve tried to make these work but honestly, I gave up and they are just sitting in one of my drawers … probably never to be used. Makes me sad but at least the highlighter and gloss are dreamy.

This collection is still available so you can still get your hands on all of these. It has been restocked three times already but I think this will be the last restock so if you’ve been trying to get your hands on these …  it’s now or never.

Natasha Denona Sunset Palette | Swatches & Review

Natasha Denona Sunset Palette | $129

“Natasha Denona’s warmest creation yet! Inspired by the colors of the sunset, this palette features 15 new gorgeous eyeshadow shades in a combination of warm brown tones, burnt oranges, reds, golds, bronzes and yellows. This palette includes all four classic ND formulas in her signature Chroma Crystal, Creamy Matte, Metallic and Duo Chrome. ”

“Internationally renowned makeup artist Natasha Denona developed her own eyeshadow formulas after struggling for over 20 years with eyeshadows that were dry, dull, and difficult to blend.”

“Natasha’s easy-to-use pressed pigments have been chosen as the best in the world by the most influential beauty gurus and leading makeup artists.”

“Natasha Denona’s Eyeshadow palettes have changed the makeup game around the globe. Infused with real crushed pearls, each unique palette supports anti-aging and offers extraordinarily rich, pure pigments, ultra-high color payoff, and buttery, creamy, easy-to-blend formulas.

“They’re long-lasting, water-resistant, and are formulated with a high percentage of mica to hydrate lids. This product is cruelty-free and free of talc.”

I know I just said this about the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette but this is probably one of my favorite palettes in my collection. Easily in my top 5 list. And yes, I know, it costs an arm and a leg but seriously how was I expected to pass on this?! And it’s totally worth every penny!

Natasha Denona is hella pricey but top notch quality. So you really get what you pay for, and you get a ton of product because these pan sizes are huge. You pay about $8 per shadow which is a really good value. You get a lot more product for a lot less than most companies offer for single shadows. And yes, I know, when it comes in a palette you usually pay a lot less but you also get a lot less product.

The shadows have a bit of a kick back but honestly when shades are this smooth and creamy it’s to be expected. And they are so pigmented that you don’t need to dig your brush in to pick up the product on your brush. A light dip and you’re good to go.

Of all the shadows I own, these blend the best and they are super pigmented. Every single shade is spectacular in this palette. They all blend seamlessly, have really good pigmentation (with or without primer), and you can build them really easily. I will say that the shimmer shades have bit of fallout but you just have to learn how to work with them. Nothing a fingertip or a damp brush won’t fix. And if all else fails … do your eyes first, your face later … so you can wipe away any excess fall out.

Is the price tag hefty, hell yea! For me, personally, the price tag was something I could manage but I’ll admit that my husband almost fainted when I told him it was $130. When I purchased this it was limited edition but has now become permanent, which means you can get it during the Sephora VIB sale. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for top notch quality. But if you just can’t pay this much for a palette, check out the Colour Pop Yes Please palette which I’ll be reviewing next week and is a really good alternative.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette | Swatches & Review

Huda Beauty, Product Reviews, Swatches

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette | $65

“Our second palette is filled with vibrant, highly-pigmented shades that reflect the exotic landscape of the Arabian desert around us. We’ve introduced three new formulas to reflect all its dazzling mystery and charm, in particular the iridescent duo-chrome formulas just completely capture the mysterious desert mirages. I spent so much time to ensure that every shade was absolutely perfect, and every color is so special to me. It was also really important to me that we take all our knowledge and feedback from our first palette, and create something that would showcase our growing experience and knowledge.” – Huda Kattan

“A dynamic eyeshadow palette with 18 shades in 4 unique textures: 1 dazzling glitter, 8 creamy mattes, 6 shimmering pearl shades and 3 duo-chrome toppers.”

“Adventure on an exotic Arabian journey with the latest eyeshadow palette by Huda Beauty. This richly toned palette features 18 versatile shades that can be layered in infinite ways to create a vast array of looks with just one palette.”

“Layer different textures to create unique combinations or add intrigue to smooth matte shades with a duo-chrome topper. From subtle, natural looks to dramatic statements and bold glittering looks, this palette will become your new essential for all your makeup routines.”

“This palette contains: Eight Matte Shades: Highly-pigmented shades in vibrant purples and ochres, and soft sandy nude-tones provide butter-like application and extended wear. (Blazing, Saffron, Amethyst, Oud, Amber, Eden, Musk, Desert Sand)”

“Six Pressed Pearls: Purely pressed pearls in plum, bronze and rose hues create a high shimmer, velvety finish that layer effortlessly on top of mattes to add depth and shine to lids.  (Turkish Delight, Angelic, Cashmere, Royal, Nefertiti, Blood Moon)”

“Three Duo-Chrome Toppers: An exquisite light-shifting formula in three enchanting shades with a duo-chrome effect. Use these transformative shades alone for an incandescent glow, or layer as the finishing touch. (Retrograde, Twilight, Celestial). One Pure3 pure glitter texture for a bold look. (Cosmo)”

“How to use Duo Chrome Toppers: Use a brush to blend the light into the base shadow, or dab onto your lid with your finger to maximise the shine. How to use Glitter: Apply the pure glitter all over the eye using a flat brush with stiff bristles, or use it as a glitter liner with a liner brush.”

I bought this palette the second it was released. And although I’m kicking myself for not waiting for the Sephora VIB Rouge sale, I definitely don’t regret my purchase. This palette is a dream and I’m so glad I added it to my collection because it doesn’t disappoint.

The shades in this palette are all equally pigmented, creamy, smooth with minimal fallout and just a tiny bit of kickback. The duo chrome formula is so amazing and the pigmentation comes all the way through, even when I decide to use a brush as opposed to my fingertips. These shades are all so easy to work with and there are so many looks you can create. This is easily one of my top 5 favorite palettes.

My go to shades in this palette are the entire first row, Celestial, Nefertiti, Angelic, Saffron and Blazing. Clearly I wouldn’t pick one because honestly, they are all just that amazing. I haven’t had the palette long enough but I already know this will be something I will be repurchasing. I fell in love with Huda Beauty when I purchased the Liquid Lipstick Vault and after buying this palette I’m definitely going to be purchasing more.

MAC Snow Ball Holiday 2017 Collection | Swatches & Review

Holiday Collections, MAC, New & Upcoming Products, Swatches

MAC Snow Ball Holiday 2017 Collection

Snow Ball Pigment and Glitter Kit in Gold.

Snow Ball Face Powders in both available shades.

Snow Ball Lipsticks in 2 of the 5 available shades.

I didn’t really  want to give this a review because I’ve barely had any time to actually use the products. But from the little I’ve used it I can say the pigments, which are permanent, are super pigmented and up to par with the other MAC pigments I own and love.

The face powders weren’t a favorite and if it weren’t for the packaging and the fact that I’ve used them to swatch for my blog, I’d have returned them in a heart beat.

The lipsticks were a must for me simply because of the packaging. I have so many matte reds very similar to this shade but how could I be expected to pass on this gorgeous packaging. I also took a risk and grabbed one of the 3 frost finishes, sight unseen, knowing damn well I don’t even like frost finishes. So I won’t bash the shade because it’s not even up my alley, but it has glitter in it and feels a little gritty when applying. I’ve been using it as a topper but the only reason I have this out on my vanity is because … well … the packaging guys. This packaging is everything.
